Pea-milk? Yes, pea-lease! The Good Pea Co launched in 2020, bringing an innovative twist to the plant-based milk market with a sustainable, chickpea-based alternative. With chickpeas as an eco-friendly ingredient, this milk alternative needed a brand that reflected the company’s commitment to sustainability while standing out in a competitive landscape. Varta Creative Studio took on the challenge of creating a brand strategy and design that would reflect the playful, bold spirit of The Good Pea Co.
The Challenge
The challenge lay in positioning chickpea milk as a desirable and accessible alternative amidst a sea of well-established plant-based options like Alpro, Oatly, Rude Health and more. The Good Pea Co’s branding needed to break away from the typical earthy tones of the plant-based market, choosing instead to reflect the company’s vibrant and quirky personality while reinforcing their commitment to sustainability and quality. The brand had to appeal to a diverse range of consumers, from health-focused individuals to the environmentally conscious, all while educating the market on the unique benefits of chickpea milk.
