When Dental Surgery Group approached Varta Creative Studio in 2022, they had recently expanded their network by acquiring Cambridge Smile Studio, their seventh practice, extending their reach further across Cambridge, along with Essex and Hertfordshire. With this acquisition came the need for a unified brand that could honour Dental Surgery Group's longstanding reputation while integrating the unique qualities of each practice within a more cohesive, contemporary identity.‍

The Challenge

Each Dental Surgery Group practice had its own character, which, while unique, lacked a unified brand presence. This disjointed image diluted their identity, especially for patients visiting multiple practices or viewing Dental Surgery Group as a single, trusted brand. With Cambridge Smile Studio's acquisition, Dental Surgery Group faced a unique branding challenge: to establish a modern yet timeless brand that would avoid giving it the perception of a cold corporate but could still effectively reflect the shared values of legacy, warmth, and community across all seven practices without overshadowing the trust they had built over the years.

The Solution

Varta Creative Studio developed a comprehensive brand and web design strategy centred on the keywords Contemporary, Legacy, Warm, and Community. Our approach focused on creating a design language and brand personality to balance Dental Surgery Group's modern growth ambitions with the comforting, familiar legacy patients relied upon. We introduced a cohesive visual identity that conveyed warmth through earth-toned palettes and a streamlined layout that allowed for a welcoming, patient-centric experience across the website and all branded materials.

By designing a unified web experience, patients could now seamlessly engage with Dental Surgery Group's network while each practice retained subtle nods to its unique history and place within the community. This project didn't just establish a fresh look; it unified Dental Surgery Group's practices under a single, inviting brand that assured patients of continuity and quality, no matter where they visited.
